A Cairo production house behind some of Egyptian cinema’s best-loved family comedies. Today we develop and produce film, drama and commercials, and run production services across Egypt and Sudan.

Director Saeed Hamed founded Spot in Cairo in 1990. Across four decades he has directed 14 feature films, from Saeedi fil Gamaa el Amrikia and Hamam fi Amsterdam to Short w Fanila w Cap and Maraei El Primo, along with TV drama and the television direction of Masrah Masr.
Spot was a partner in making these films through executive production and co-production, and it produced Ala Ganb Ya Osta. Saeed Hamed’s films launched names that defined a generation: Saeedi fil Gamaa el Amrikia gave Mohamed Henedy his first lead and Mona Zaki one of her first major film roles, Short w Fanila w Cap was Ahmed El Sakka’s first lead, and Rasha Gareea gave Yasmin Abdelaziz one of her early leading roles.

On 15 November 1896, the Toussoun Bourse in Alexandria hosted Egypt’s first screening of Lumière films. Egyptian cinema’s story began there.
